Novel berbahasa Inggris pertama

Daftar di bawah ini adalah 10 novel yang di klaim sebagai novel awal berbahasa Inggris. Klaim tertua adalah kaya Thomas Malory dengan karyanya yang berjudul Le Morte d'Arthur yang dia tulis tahun 1470 dan di publikasikan tahun 1485.

10 novel tersebut antara lain adalah:

  1. Thomas Malory: Le Morte d'Arthur: (ditulis tahun 1470: diterbitkan 1485)
  2. William Baldwin: Beware the Cat: (diterbitkan 1570: 1584)
  3. John Lyly: Euphues: The Anatomy of Wit (1578) and Euphues and his England (1580)

  6. Aphra Behn: Oroonoko (1688)

  8. Daniel Defoe: Robinson Crusoe (1719)
  9. Daniel Defoe: Moll Flanders (1722)
  10. Samuel Richardson: Pamela (1740)
